Download a copy of Michael's 2008 CD release "Get The Keys" featuring tracks cut during the "Twentyfirst Centurian" tours with a fantastic lineup that includes keyboardists John Bigham (Funkchurch,Stackabones), the amazing Ryan Hickey (Mars Hotel,The Eleven) playing organ and keyboard bass. Featuring Brilliant horn work by L.A. Stevenson, Michael digs into his funkier past with a streetwise, gritty recording approach and pumping beats a plenty with songs that pick up where SLIDE left off..."Get the Keys" is the funkiest record in the MM library. Tracks like "Get Down Or Lay Down" "Waiting For The Breakdown" and the title track "Get The Keys" featuring guests like Mike Tyler (P-Funk,LL Cool J), vocalist Pamela Parker and tons super grooves and old school breaks straight out of Phila. Michael gathers the funkiest cats around, plays alot of the basic tracks himself and delivers a winner. Recorded at his home Pro Tools studio during session from 2006, the CD combines sticky funk with textural songs with themes and undercurrents of social change, political turmoil and post 911 reality with tracks like "Chinese Medicine" "and the soulful closing track "Never Too Late" giving a beautiful counterpoint and tribute to one of Michael's heroes Curtis Mayfield.
